BIO:

Coach Karl Pretzer was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania until the 4th grade. His family then moved to the Wheaton area. Karl was a three year Varsity player for Wheaton Warrenville South High School as a goalkeeper (two year starter).

After high school Karl went on to play for College of DuPage where his 1996 team finished 3rd in the Nation and his 1998 team finished 7th in the Nation. Karl finished his playing days at Benedictine University where he earned a Bachelors majoring in Social Science and a minor in Secondary Education.

Karl began fine tuning his coaching career after that, with highlights being his 39-21-4 record and two regional finals as the Head Varsity Girls Coach at St. Joseph in Westchester, and a 13-9-2 campaign as the Head Boys Varsity Coach in 2006 earning the school its first ever Class AA Regional Championship.

Karl currently holds his USSF National "B" License, USSF National Goalkeeper License, USSF National Youth License, NSCAA Advanced National Diploma, and NSCAA Advanced National Goalkeeper Diploma.

Karl is in his second year at Eclipse Select and resides in Downers Grove with his wife and son.
